This book has been designed to support the teacher in the introduction of the concepts of blending three letter words ,
c-v-c (consonant-vowel-consonant) and the recognition of word families.

The first section is a revision of single sounds at the beginning, middle and final positions in a word.

The second section of this book introduces the concept of word families .

The final section of this book has many varied activities to help the student practice blending three letter words
together and to use them in a meaningful way.

Activities include cutting, pasting, word puzzles, colouring, drawing pictures, rhyming words, filling in the missing words,
circling the correct words, matching pictures and words, and various other activities all designed to encourage the student
to recognise patterns in words and blend the sounds together to make words.
