This Profile focuses on the underlying concepts and processes essential to a full problem-solving ability rather than content aimed at school year levels.
Organised into four levels of problem complexity, each level contains problems that address:
– the process to be used is relatively obvious
– the process required is not immediately obvious
– the problem contains more information than is needed for a solution
– further information needs to be gathered and applied to the problem in order to obtain a solution. Strategic thinking is needed to analyse the problem in order to determine a solution strategy
